Verdaccio - Half pan
Verdaccio - Half pan
PBr7, PBk11 | Excellent lightfastness | Semi-transparent
Verdaccio is made according to an old Ceninno Cennini recipe of green umber and black iron oxide. “Verdaccio” is often cited in Cennino’s text as a perfect pigment to use in under-painting, especially in portraits, and to render volume of drappery, rocks, river fish, beards and hair. Useful for shading.
Made by hand in Assisi, our watercolors are crafted according to a traditional recipe of raw pigments, gum arabic, local honey, rosemary essential oil and a wetting agent. This artisanal process creates a very pigmented and luminous paint that activates beautifully when wet.
