4 French Ochres Sample

Created in collaboration with Société des Ocres de France. Founded in 1901, this fourth-generation family business extracts ochre from its quarry in Gargas—the last active ochre quarry in Europe—and transforms it into pure pigment at its historic factory in Apt.

Drawn from the ochre-rich earth of the Luberon, these warm yellows, reds, and browns have shaped the landscape and visual identity of Provence for centuries. They evoke the natural palette embraced by generations of French artists, including Paul Cézanne, whose work was deeply inspired by the colors and landscapes of his native Provence.
