Naturale 3 - Handmade Watercolor Set

A sequel palette in our best-selling Naturale series, the Naturale 3 includes twelve brand new natural tones!

This palette features five colors made with Iwa-Enogu Japanese mineral pigments. These pigments have undergone a special elutriation process that achieves precise and uniform particle sizes. These particles of nearly identical size and shape offer exceptionally clear colors with unique texture. Orange iron oxide and Tourmaline are made with Iwa-Enogu single pigments.

Two of the most exclusive colors in the Naturale 3 palette are Stil de grain light, a surprisingly bright, transparent yellow lake pigment made from Buckthorn berries and Han purple, a granulating and regal purple historic pigment first created in ancient China over 2,500 years ago.

The historic trio of Cinabro hue, Azurite hue and Malachite hue made using an Enogu mineral base of Peach agate, Sodalite and Amazonite respectively. This stone pigment base has allowed us to maintain a mineral quality in these copper and mercury-free hues.

Other favourites in this palette include Lilac, a fresh, granulating delicate purple and a single pigment Van Dyck brown made from real German lignite. Icelandic red earth is a semi-transparent pigment with a subtly variegated color display of plum and red ochre tones. This pigment was collected by David Kremer and landscape painter Peter Lang from near the volcano Snaefellsjoekull in western Iceland.

The Naturale 3 handmade watercolor set of twelve individually wrapped half pans is available in either a 12 color or 36 color watercolor tin with two mixing surfaces, a color chart printed on Arches watercolor paper. The 12 color watercolor tin option comes with a synthetic Kazan series 1327 pocket brush by Tintoretto size 8 and the 36 color watercolor tin option comes with a traditional synthetic series 1407 mop brush size 0. The Naturale 3 handmade watercolor set is packaged with original Florentine marbled paper and comes inside an elegant gift box.

Many of the colors in the Naturale Collection are granulating. For bold results, these unique natural colors perform best when pre-wet with a drop of water.

Made by hand in Assisi, our watercolors are crafted according to a traditional recipe of raw pigments, gum arabic, local honey, rosemary essential oil and a wetting agent. This artisanal process creates a very pigmented and luminous paint that activates beautifully when wet.

A. Gallo Colors are 100% handmade. Pans may contain small imperfections like tiny bubbles and minor blemishes. This does not affect the quality of the paint and is a sign of the human touch that goes into making each and every unique pan!

Half pans present a choking hazard and are not intended for use by children. Please also keep out of reach of pets. A. Gallo Colors are all cadmium, cobalt, lead and mercury free.
